Hi, I'm Alice, creator of Blue Air Ceramics.
I make perfectly imperfect, handcrafted, sweary ceramics to make the air turn blue.
Why so sweary?
I met my dear friend Natalie in 2003 when we both moved to Dubai. We both swore like troopers and our favourite word was 'c*nt'. In 2011 she was diagnosed with mouth cancer and we used some colourful language to describe her cancer and treatment. She died in 2015. She was an incredibly thoughtful gift giver and I always wished I could have given her a mug that said 'c*nt' on it, not something crass or gimicky but instead something beautiful and made with love.
So I enrolled on a ceramics course and Blue Air Ceramics was born, these are the gifts I never got to give her. Natalie would have loved it.
My work is created with love, fun and positivity.
Custom orders
Custom orders are welcome. I especially love to make pieces for people with treasured friendships or relationships and to hear the stories of what makes them laugh or feel connected.
